Fabio Oberto

Fabio Oberto produces Barolo in the prestigious La Morra commune, in the Piemonte region. He had been producing high quality red wines for a long time for his family winery with his farther, Andrea Oberto. They had worked together for 22 years but in 2017, Fabio decided to create his own company “La Collina di Dioniso da Fabio Oberto” to follow his desires and ambitions, that gives continuity to the family’s vision of making wine true to the great terroir of the area. He continues to work with his father, and the majority of his wines are still being sourced from the original vineyards of his father.

La Collina di Dioniso is based on a group of people who want to share the same passions, ideals and adventure. The name “La Collina” derives from the Langhe territory, well known for its smooth hills, which together give birth to a unique landscape. Fabio chose “Dioniso” as he thought it was a good idea to ask a God for help, thus engaging someone who was a good wine drinker. Dionysus, the God of wine, is the right choice.

“Andrea and Fabio Oberto’s Barolos stand out for their exceptional balance and sheer polish… one of my favorite growers in La Morra. Andrea and Fabio don’t get anywhere near the attention they deserve for their superb Barolo.”
