Travaglini

“Travaglini is the largest landowner in the Gattinara appellation in northern Piedmont, Stylistically, the wines bridge traditional and more modern styles, with the Riserva being the most classic wine and the Tre Vigne the most contemporary.”

Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate

Travaglini is a leader in the wine region of Alto Piemonte. For 5 generations, the Travaglini family has been producing Nebbiolo in different expressions thanks to a great attention to details, both in the vineyards and in the cellar.

A deep bond with the territory, great passion inherited and handed down from generation to generation with the continuous search for quality and perfection, make the pillars of a historic winery. Over the last few years, the company has invested in training, new systems and in the renovation of the cellar, managing to balance tradition and novelties in every corner.

Perhaps the most beautiful anecdote that makes their product unique is our bottle: designed, manufactured and patented in 1958 by Giancarlo Travaglini. Born with a belly and curved shape just to collect the sediments (very frequent in those years) during the drink and allowing a service without the use of a decanter, is today what characterizes the Gattinara, making it unique and recognizable.

Their product range includes Cinzia and Nebbiolo, two entry wines that express the absolute freshness and youth of Nebbiolo playing on the choice of grapes in the vineyard and aging in the cellar. There are three types of Gattinara D.O.C.G., a classic version and two versions of the Riserva. The Gattinara line is the most significant in portraying Travaglini’s tradition and love for the territory. Lastly, they have the Il Sogno and Nebolè (the sparkling), with more limited production.

At home Travaglini we try to limit as much as possible the action on wine. What guides us is a single goal: try to collect the spirit of nature and make it express at the highest levels.
